The Great Gatsby...
Filming started on The Great Gatsby this month! Along with being set in my all time favourite era - the 20s, the Director of one of my favourite films is also at the helm, one Mr Baz Luhrmann! I'm very excited! It will be the fourth time F Scott Fitzgerald's classic tale will be made for the big screen. Cast in the lead roles are, Carey Mulligan as the shallow but-but-alluring Daisy Buchanan and Leonardo di Caprio as the enigmatic Jay Gatsby. I cannot wait!

Storm in a Teacup...
When a guy named Paul and a gal named Zoe came together for pints one early Summer evening, it resulted in 'Storm in a Teacup'. This was "no small event that had been exaggerated out of proportion", this was one meeting where Paul Mahon and Zoe Wong's vision to work on a short film together was born, and the objective being to bring fashion and music together. I wouldn't mind a productive night like that while out guzzling beers, I may just have to give it a whirl sometime!
Paul Mahon, otherwise known as Geppetto - the pseudonym he uses for collaborative projects, is a Video Artist and Musician. 'Storm in a Teacup' is a piece of music he composed which was the starting point for the project. Zoe's background is in design, and her task was to design a collection aimed at complimenting Paul's composition. She decided on an aesthetic of ethereal fluidity, as she felt it would naturally fit with the atmosphere and emotion of the piece.
The short/fashion film screens during the Dublin Festival of Fashion. My invite to the evening states that it's a cocktail party and to dress accordingly, so the plan is to dress up as my favourite cocktail - a good aul pint of the black stuff. I know it's not technically a cocktail, but it is my favourite tipple and I won't have any problem rooting out some black attire from my 'sea of black' wardrobe!
Here's a sneak peak of the film http://vimeo.com/28295842 and some stills of the costumes.
